Art is my life. I love every aspect of it. I live to breathe the
culture and see the world with a different eye. I was born and raised in Sitka, Alaska. My entire life is forever
rooted to this community. Nothing has ever compared or even come close to living in such a paradise, though it is a rainy one! My mother and I run a bed and breakfast, which was named after me. It was a great experience to grow up being able to meet new people from all over the world. Being so young and having that socialization with adults has

I began working and volunteering at the Alaska Raptor Center a few years ago. I lived to rescue and rehabilitate a wild eagle from a tree, rock, or bushâ?¦ sadly most of the injuries I saw were from mankind. After working/rehabilitating such dangerous and beautiful creatures I was hooked. Captivated by the idea of such an amazing creature being able to eventually have the trust in you to sit on your
gloved hand, I researched more and more about raptors in general. In my studies I found falcon breeding facilities all over the United States all I knew was I wanted to work with raptors, I did not care what it was, just being around themâ?¦ cleaning their enclosures was enough to keep me happy. I worked in a raptor breeding program out West couple of years and eventually became versed in the most ancient sport known to man, falconry. I have been a licensed falconer for years now and I could not ask for a more rewarding, unique, and even frustrating lifestyle. From raising a baby falcon from an egg to training a wild hawk, all intended to hunt along side you for their foodâ?¦ I appreciate the privilege I have just to be able to keep a bird of prey; literally I share their life as though I am wild with them. There is no feeling in
the world like a bird that is totally free to fly off into the wild,
when it returns to you for food because it trusts you and also knows you are the next best chance for a meal (mainly the second).

I have a hard time describing myself, so I would like to tell about some of the things I have done and why I did them. Hopefully this will give you some insight into who I am.

I recently moved to Idaho Falls for a great job. I realized that a lot of my life will be defined by my job, so when I found a great job in Idaho Falls, I didn't hesitate to move here.

I spend 2 months volunteering full time with Habitat for Humanity before I found my job. I really enjoy service and believe that I have a responsibility to the community that I am in to spend some of my time and effort to make it a better place. Also I enjoy building things.

I rode a bicycle 3,754 miles from Chicago, Il to Anacortes, WA and down the Pacific coast to Arcata, Ca. I did this because after 4 years of college filled with intellectual challenges I wanted one that was mostly physical. Additionally I wanted a chance to explore the US and relax.
